Udupi: DC Dr Reju urges Rotary Clubs to Partner in Developing Infrastructure in District

Udupi, 10 Sep, 2013: The general participation is essential in effectively implementing developmental programmes of governments. The Rotary Club International (RCI) that are doing yeomen service in the district deserves to be commended for their active role in creating general awareness on use of toilets, scientific disposal of solid and liquid waste, health consciousness, commended Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr M T Reju.
DC Dr Reju was speaking during the meeting of district RCI officers bearers held at district headquarter, here on Saturday September 7.
DC Dr Reju urged RCI to join hands with district administration in providing basic facilities in Anganawady and state-run schools, to provide essential study materials to most needy students, to erect hoardings and signboards on NH 66 for the benefit of tourists, urged DC Dr Reju.
Dc Dr Reju also urged RCI to support the district administration in all round development of district, by providing local resources and assured to get state funds to the set limit.
The zilla panchayat CEO S A Prabhakar Sharma in his introductory address said that the district administration has identified the houses that sans toilet facility and set a realistic goal of providing toilets by March 2014, said Prabhakar. He also appreciated the partnership of RCI in creating general awareness on rural cleanliness and hygiene and in helping the district administration realizing the goal of providing toilet facilities to all household families in the district.
