‘Teachers play the role of second parents’- Rev.Fr. Joswey

Udupi/M’belle, 06 Sep 2013: “Teachers play the role of second parents to the students. It is they who correct the students when they go wrong as they would do in regards of their own children. The teachers also play an important role in shaping the future of the students under their care..” said Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes, Correspondent of St. Lawrence Group of Educational Institutions while speaking on the occasion of the celebration of Teachers Day by the students of St. Lawrence Degree College on Thursday, September 5, 2013.
Commodore Jerome Castelino, Dean of the college who was the chief guest, said that students should give respect to their teachers through disciplined behavior and putting in good efforts in their studies. By developing the ability to speak in English and through computer education, students can achieve success in their lives and enhance the name of the institution in which they study and also make their parents and teachers proud of their success.
On this occasion, Lecturer Suchit Kotian who had secured first rank in the Post Graduate Degree was felicitated. Students organized various fun games to the teachers.
President of the Students Union Council-Sarita Lavina D’Souza welcomed the gathering, Sachin Shetty proposed the vote of thanks and Ashwini Fernandes compeered the porgramme.
