Kundapur: Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti Protests over Derogatory Statement in Novel ‘Dundi’

Kundapur, Aug 31: Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti staged a protest at Shstry roundabout, here on Friday August 30, urging the state administration to ban the novel ‘Dundi’ authored by Yogish for his derogatory statement on Lord Ganapati, which has hurt the religious sentiments of majority community and also to take appropriate action on the author.
Addressing the gathering, Udupi district Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti co-ordinator Vijaya Kumar said that Yogish Master has depicted Lord Ganapati in poor taste in his novel ‘Dundi’ that has hurt the religious sentiments of majority community. There have been instances in the past, sacrileges on Hindu Gods in India, said Vijaya Kumar. He also urged the state authorities to take actions on the author and publisher in order not to repeat such instances in the future, urged Vijaya Kumar.
Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti activists Laxmisha Havaldar, Raghuveer Nagarkar, Shobha and others were present on the occasion.
