E-Governance – the need of Present Times: Dr Prasad

Udupi, 27 Aug 2013 : The valedictory function of two-day national seminar on E-governance in Karnataka was held at St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here on Sunday August 25. It was organized jointly by political science department of St Mary’s College and Karnataka state political science teachers Association.
Professor Dr Choudhary Prasad of TAPMI, Manipal was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Choudary said that it’s owing to the technological advances, the government services are swiftly reaching the common man. E-governance is boon to state administration, in spite of this, there is the need to find further progress in this regard, said Dr Choudhary.
Dr Choudhary released a book an anthology on synchronization of opportunities in Indian democracy, by Dr Padmanabha Bhat during the programme.
The College principal Professor V N Rajan in his presidential address said that modern communication technology has been fully introduced in banking, education, medical and commerce and it has the influence on state governance, said Professor Rajan.
Professor Ronald J Moras welcomed the gathering. Mangalore University political science teachers’ Association president and St Mary’s College head of department of political science Dr Padmanabha Bhat proposed vote of thanks. The Association secretary Professor Krishnanand Shenoy was present. Professor Subramanya compered the programme.
