Mangalore, 31 July 2013: A huge pile of solid waste that was recklessly dumped since 2 to 3 years near Koti – Chennayya roundabout, Jeppu, here was at last cleared.  The building material waste, trunks of huge trees etc was cleared and the entire place is now beaming with a few saplings in a drive to make city green and clean.

The solid waste was a health hazard on the people living along the busy road at Jeppu, which remained neglected without carrying out cleaning by civic authorities.

Despite several pleas to civic authorities and local corporator, the heap of waste remainedas it is.  Meanwhile, the local MLA J R Lobo has taken earnest interest in clearing the mound of waste along with wild vegetation and planted a few saplings in a drive to promote clean city.
