Car Turns Turtle on NH 66 at Baikampady; Driver Critical

Mangalore, 11 Jul 2013 : A driver of a car was fatally injured when his car turned turtle on national highway 66 at Baikampady bypass road, here on the wee hours of Wednesday July 10.

The injured has been identified as forty-year-old Shivaram, a native of Panamboor, here.

 

 

 

Shivaram was on his way to the market at about 5.30am on Wednesday and was driving in opposite direction on the national highway at Baikampady.  Meanwhile, when Shivaram saw the oncoming truck, he applied sudden brakes and the car was turned turtle in the middle of the road.

As a result, Shivaram suffered major injuries on his head and feet.  He was taken to a nearby private hospital by the local residents.

Panamboor police registered a case in this regard.

The long haulers cause chaos on this stretch or highway, by driving either side, while the unwary motorists become victims of mishap.  The locals urge the police force to lay down proper road signs and strictly enforce reckless driving.
