Sagara, 9 Jul 2013: It’s a worthy deed to feed the hungry, said town council member Sayyed Iqbal.
Sayyed Iqbal was speaking during the distribution of groceries to the poor brethrens of community on the occasion of up coming Ramadan here on Monday July 8. It was organized by Safa Baitul Mall Charitable Trust, located near Azad mosque, here.
The Trust has the genuine concern for the poor brethrens especially to help them to observe Ramadan. Accordingly, it has allocated the distribution in 4 packages at a cost of Rs 1,200 each to 70 families each to cover 40 days of fasting. The each package has 20 kilograms of rice, 4 kilograms of wheat, 1.5 liters of edible oil, 1.5 kilograms of toor dal, 2 kilograms of sugar, 1 kilogram of salt, chilly powder, tea powder, turmeric powder, spices etc, a blanket, said Iqbal.
The Trust secretary Mohammed Hanif urged the well-off brethrens to donate in cash in lieu of cost of packages, in order to help the poor brethrens to observe fasting during Ramadan, urged Hanif.
Hanif further said that the Trustees take utmost care in qualifying the beneficiaries in this regard.
The former deputy councilor Maqbool Ahmed, Trust chairman Moulana Khalim Ulla, leaders Nissar Ali Khan, Rehman, Fayaz, Nooruddin Sab, town council member Rafiq were present at the dais.
