Vanamahotsava held in Jnanaganga PU College, Nellikatte

Udupi, 04 Jul 2013 : Jnanaganga P U College ,Nellikatte , Moodubelle observed July 3, 2013  as “Vanamahotsava Day” .  Sri Sakaram Shetty, local businessman inaugurated the function by planting the saplings in the college campus.  Sri U L Bhat, Principal  of Jnanaganga P U College welcomed the gathering.

 

At the function, Biology lecturer, Smt. Divyashree gave the brief information about the importance of the day and advised the students to take the responsibility of protecting and maintaining the nature . Sri Prabhakar K S told about the animals entering to the city is the main cause of deforestation and loss of equilibrium in the nature and emphasized on the duty of the people  to maintain the nature.

 

 

 

 

 

In his presidential speech Sri Suresh Shetty gave the picture of deforestation  and pointed out the adverse effects of deforestation. He also  mentioned that when the college was built a number of trees had to be cut down and it is proper that new trees have to be planted to make good the loss. The function was concluded by Sri Raghu by proposing the vote of thanks. Sri Shrinivas Bhat compeered the programme.
