Women play key role in creating healthy society: Babita Aras

Udupi, 18 Jun 2013: Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) is an ideal to the society because it has enhanced the confidence of rural woman and inspired them to lead harmonious living. The women play key role in upbringing their children with Indian culture which would lead to healthy society, said Shirva Mahila Mandal president Babita Jagdish Aras.
Babita was speaking after inaugurating eighth anniversary of Vaishnavi and Bhargavi Self-Help-Groups (SHGs) of Bantakal Federation under SKDRDP at Durgaparameshwari temple, Bantakal, near here on Saturday June 17.
Shirva gram panchayat member K Ramaraya presided the function.
The sculptor Poornima Acharya Shankarapura and Tukra Moolya, who is leading a normal life after attending de-addiction camp since 6 years were felicitated at the same occasion.
The senior teacher B Pundalika Marate was the chief guest present.
SKDRDP Shirva zonal overseer Mohan, service representative Ganapati Prabhu Palame was present at the dais.
One percent of profit was distributed to SHGs members.
Shirva Mahila Mandal president Vasanti Gopal, former president Shakuntala Prabhu, SHG president Geeta Wagle welcomed the gathering. Rohini Nayak read the annual report. Shobha R Patkar rendered the prayers. Sangeeta Krishnamurti Patkar proposed vote of thanks. Bhavani compered the programme.
