Hassan, 8 Jun 2013: Childline will make every effort to avail free education to all school drop-outs under Right to Education (RTE) Act, said Childline director C C Paulose.
Addressing the media persons during a press meet held here on Friday June 7, Paulose said that Childline and associates are striving to avail free education to school drop-outs who are engaged in rag-picking, begging, rearing livestock, working as child laborers etc under RTE.
Meanwhile, Childline will go on a survey in each taluk beginning from June 11, to identify the school drop-outs and convince their parents to allow them to study. It has so far rescued 45 child laborers, said Paulose.
RTE aims to assure the children that they are the future citizens of India who should have normal childhood. It would curb child trafficking and social evils, oppression and atrocities on girls, added Paulose.
