Boy Dies in Collision of State-Owned Bus & Motorcycle

Hassan, 22 May 2013: A teenage boy died instantly when a state-owned bus rammed a motorcycle at Palya in Aloor taluk, near here on Tuesday May 21. Besides, two persons were also critically injured in the ghastly mishap.
The deceased has been identified as fifteen-year-old Sachin, son of Anne Gowda, residing at Belavady village in Arakalagoodu, near here. Sachin’s brother-in-law Rangaswamy and Sudeep were critically injured and admitted in the hospital here.
The bus that was plying from Somavarpete hit the motorcyclet at Kattaya, near here.
The eyewitnesses said that the over speeding bus has hit the motorcyclists.
Meanwhile, the angry villagers protested by laying the dead body of Sachin on the road. Meanwhile, the tense situation prevailed when KSRTC district controller Narayanaswamy arrived at the spot.
SP Amit Singh also arrived at the site and convinced the protesters to transport the dead body in an ambulance to the deceased’s family.
Narayanaswamy said that the driver Madhu will be suspended from service and his license will be impounded.
Addressing the media persons, Ramachandrappa, a certain local said that similar incidents had occurred at the same spot and the angry villagers have set alight 2 state-owned buses. He demanded the PWD lays humps on either side of the road to avoid recurrence of incidents.
