Udupi: Secularity Exemplified in Voting by Bride & Grooms on Assembly Election

Udupi, 06 May 2013: The two incidents wherein bridegrooms’ in the limits of Udupi and Kaup legislative assembly elections cast their votes at the polling straight after the nuptials, while a bride in Brahmavar cast her vote first in the morning, before the wedding nuptial.
The bridegroom a software engineer Noufal Sheikh voted along with his friends at the polling center located in Kaup Model Higher Primary School, near here soon after ‘nikha’ held at Halima Sabju auditorium, Kaup.
The bridegroom Sandeep Shetty voted at the polling center soon after the nuptials held at Ammanni Ramanna Shetty auditorium, here and returned to the venue.
The bride Shaila D’Silva who voted at Nirmala High School, Brahmavar at 7.00am along with her parents, straight arrived for the nuptials at Syrian Orthodox Church, Sastan, near here.
It’s significant that these three weddings were belonged to three different religions that has indeed exemplified the secularity, diversity in religion in free India.
