Shirva Police Nab Thieves of Copper Cables; Recover Stocks

Udupi, 13 Mar 2013: The policemen of Shirva station on Monday March 11 arrested the thieves who stole copper cables worth 1,330 kilograms by breaking the rear shutter of Paniyoor Ismail Ibrahim owned godown located in Belapu gram panchayat that comes under the limits of Shirva police station, on February 12. Ismail had lodged a complaint at Shirva police station on March 1 in this regard.
The police recovered copper cables worth 199 kilograms amounting to Rs 91,540 and seized a Hyundai Santro car, cash money of Rs 50,000.
The arrested has been identified as twenty-two-year-old Elias, son of Abubakker, residing in Janata Colony, Chandra Nagar – Padoor; thirty-four-year-old Rahim, son of Fakruddin, residing at Devarahadi – Chandra Nagar; twenty-five-year-old Abdul Sattar, son of M Mohammed, residing at Mallar – Guddekkeri; twenty-five-year-old Mohammed Nazeem, son of Mohammed Akthar, residing at Mallaru – Guddekkeri.
Kaup circle inspector Shivanand Valekar, Shirva police sub-inspector K R Naik and policemen were involved in this operation.
