Moodubelle, 05 Mar 2013: While the youth in general are being criticized for their lack of social commitment, the Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala proved otherwise when they took upon themselves the task of renovating the Higher Primary School in Edmeru on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
As the wooden strips holding the tiles of the roof of the school were affected by termites, the headmaster and teachers of the school brought this matter to the notice of the Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala, the office bearers and members of the mandala held a meeting and decided to rectify the damage. Accordingly a meeting of the mandala and old students along with some villagers was held and on Sunday, March 3, 2013 more than 60 members of the mandala, old students and villagers jointly dismantled the entire roof of the school and fixed new wooden strips and cleaned the tiles and refixed the entire roof within a day.
The Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala has been rendering a number of services to the school. The headmaster of the school N. Vivekananda, senior teacher Bhaskara Shetty and the administrator of the school Sitaram Shetty expressed gratitude to the Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala for their exemplary service. Santosh Kumar, Ganesh Nayak, Dinakara Bhandary, Umesh, Nagesh Nayak, Prathama Shetty, Rajesh Nayak and others were present. The entire social service was consucted under the supervision of Shivaram Salian, member of the Belle Grama Panchayat.
