Kunjaru Sridurgadevi Temple under renovation

Shirva, 16 August 2012: Kunjarugiri Sridurgadevi temple near Pajaka Kshethra where Acharya Madhwa was reincarnated, gets filled with devotees during the Sona Shukrara utsav every year. The devotees come there for the service, religious vow and for submission since morning until evening. The visitors include the farmers and even the students from the school and colleges who come there on mini tour. But this year the utsav during the Sona Shukrara and Navaratri will be conducted just traditionally only.
Because the complete renovation work of Srikshetra has already started. In the presence and direction of Sri Vishwapriya Theertha of Sri Adamaru Mutt the renovation work was initiated in the month of July. The Moolapeeta of Sridevi has been retained as it is and the renovation work of Theertha Mantapa and the surrounding areas are being renovated. So at the moment the original statue of Sri Devi can be seen from close by.
Every day the prayers to Sridevi are being conducted in the morning before 9.00 am and after 7.00 pm. The annual festivity celebrations will be conducted in February 2013 and there will not be any Pooja and services until then. During the Sona Shurkrara and Navaratri the work will be hold for one day so that the devotees can visit and perform Pooja, said the Board. So far from 17 August to 16th September there will be 5 Sona Shukrara’s.
