Free text-books and note-books distributed in Edmeru and Padubelle Schools

Moodubelle, 06 June 2012: As the schools reopened after the summer vacation, programmes of distribution of free text books and note books are being organized in order to encourage students from economically week families to continue their education and lighten the burden of their parents. With this view programmes of distribution of free text books and note books were organized in Shri mahabhaleshwara Hindu Anudhanitha Higher Primary School, Edmeru and Government Higher Primary School, Padubelle.
At Edmeru, the programme was organized in school hallpresided over tby Uday Kumar Shetty. Subhaschandra Hegde, a prominent hotelier from Poona has been distributing free books to the students of this school since three years. He promised to continue this practice ce in order to promote education among the children in rural areas.
Sitarma Shetty, Correspondent of the school gave away free books to the students which were sent to the school by the state government.
Mrs. Helen D’Souza inaugurated the Midday meal (Aksharadasoha) by sponsoring sweet-meal to the students. Senior teacher, Bhaskar Shetty, other teachers and parents were present for the programme. The headmaster of the school, Vivekananda Shetty compeered the programme and also proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme for the distribution of free books in the Government Higher Primary School, Padubelle was held on Monday 4, 2012 at 4 pm. Harish Shetty, member of the Belle Grama Panchayat and President of the Old Students Association of the School presided over the function. Harish Shetty has been distributing free books to the students of this school since the last three years.
The programmme was attended by Mrs. Helen Mendonca, member of the Belle Grama Panchayat, Mahabala Shetty, former president of the School Development Committee, Mrs. Vanitha, present president of the Committee, Mrs. Sunitha, vice president, Mrs. Lalitha, headmistress of the school, Raghavendra Shetty, president of the SKDGY Okkuta.
Mrs. Lalitha welcomed the gathering, Mrs. Nagarathna, compeered the programme and Mrs. Vanitha proposed the vote of thanks.
