Udupi, 28 February 2012: After BJP came into the administration in the state there has been exploitation on women and we reject the Minister Shobha Karandlaje for keeping quiet on this, said KPCC Women President Manjula Naidu, she was speaking in the press conference on Monday. The pub attack in Mangalore, the death of MLA Raghupathi Bhat’s wife, murder of Bellary Counselor’s wife Padmavathi Yadav, lati charge on women in Koppala by Police for asking their wages, all these have taken place during this government, she said.
Renukacharya while he was MLA and Halappa while he was Minister, had involved in illicit activities, but the government protected them. The Chief Minister has justified conducting the rave party in Malpe. All these show the evil character of the government on the women. But still the Minister Shoba Karanlaje who is also a woman cannot see this and is she not ashamed of this? she questioned.
There is no democracy in the state, it is dictatorship going on, the time has come to protest this. But before that the BJP government should take moral responsibility and must resign, she urged. In the press conference State women congress Secretary Yashodha, Udupi Congress Women President Veronica Carnelio, Treasurer Shilpa Suvarna, Secretary Jayashree Krishnaraj and Former Jilla Panchayath President Sarasu Bangera were present.
