Talks fail on the inclusion of Puttige Mutt Seer in Paryaya

Udupi, 18 January 2012: In spite of many rounds of talks the issue of Sode Mutt and Puttige Mutt could not be resolved. The efforts of the senior most Seer among the Asta Mutt, Pejavar Seer to solve the prevailing differences between the seers could not materialized. Thus Puttige Mutt Seer Shri Sugunendra Theertha could not participate in the Paryayotsava procession conducted on Wednesday.

 

As a last effort on Tuesday, Pejavar Seer made a proposal of two conditions for compromising on the issue between the two Mutts. But since both Mutts did not accept the conditions the issue could not be resolved. Since Puttige Mutt Seer went on a foreign tour he was not invited for the Paryayotsava of Sode Mutt Seer Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha. Hurt with this Puttige Seer made his efforts to resolve the issue. At the end he conducted fasting, urging Pejavara Seer to resolve the issue.

 

 
Pejavar Seer also conducted fasting on Tuesday and organized talks between the Seers of Sode and other Mutts. Pejavar Seer called the opposing Seer of Krishnapur Mutt Shri Vidyasagara Theertha who is also the teacher of Sode Seer, Phalimaru Mutt Shri Vidyadeesha Theertha, Kaniyoor Mutt Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha and Pejavara Junior Shree Vishwaprasanna Theertha and conducted closed door talks.

 
Later Pejavar Seer conducted talks with Puttige Mutt representatives, Sode Mutt representatives, Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat and the Paryaya Welcome Committee, thus conducted the talks the whole day. But nothing materialized. None could agree with the other. So Pejavar Seer was also hurt with this. Finally he said that he was looking forward to give a good news, but he could not succeed for which he regrets and he continued his fasting.
