Udupi, 23 November 2011: Though the art and culture of the Koraga community are ignored in Udupi – Dakshina Kannada districts, it is being highly regarded in other districts. The arts and cultures of this community have diminished among the untouchability in our district. The Koraga associations which are trying to preserve their culture have built various music troupes and are giving performances in the outer districts and states.
Koral Kala Troupe from Mangalore has given more than 20 performances in the last two years and recently they performed in golden land Kolar successfully. Their performance in “Hunnime Hadu – 65” program conducted in Adima School hill has been liked and appreciated by many scolars and local people. The same team had earlier performed in Bangalore’s Ravindra Kala Kendra, Chitra Kala Parishat, Ram Nagar’s Janapada Loka, Coorg’s Titimati, Manglore Shaktinagar’s Kalangana and many other places and have received appreciation.
