Belman: Children’s Day celebrated at St. Joseph School

Belman, 15 November 2011: The students in Belman St. Joseph Higher Primary School arrived to school casually with their colourful plain dress and jewelries, as there was no restriction on wearing the uniform on this day. They participated in the various games organized in the school premises and enjoyed the day. In the celebration also, on the dias the president of the program and the chief guests were all the class student leaders from the Balavadi to seventh standard.
But all the other part of the program, compeering, prayers, welcoming, introductory note, singing, dance were all conducted by the teachers.
Also, welcoming the children with flower bouquet is also by the teachers. All children had lunch along with sweet payasa! The specialty of this day is “Children’s Day”. This unique moment was created by Senior Teacher Sewrine Mendonsa and the inspiration was given by the School Headmistress Sr. Monica. Teachers who assisted in conducting all these activities were; Vincent Pinto, Sr. Daizy, Juliana Moras, Lilly D’Souza, Pundalika Marathe, Lavina Pinto, Harshendra Kumar Jain and Kumari Joyce.
The Chief Guests of the program were; Jeshal D’Souza of Balavadi, Rolvin D’Souza of 1st Standard, Basavaraj of 2nd Standard, Sameeksha Acharya of 3rd Standard, Sahana S. of 4th Standard, Akash Putran of 5th Standard, Rivi D’Souza of 6th Standard, Swathlanan Noronha of 7th Standard and Deputy School Leader Vishal Nazareth.
The Children’s day celebration, children’s rights, duties, importance of national education, Nehru’s love towards children and the messages of Human Resources Minister, Karnataka Chief Minister and Education Minister were read out. Teachers briefed the information on “today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens”. After that the teachers conducted cultural programs.
