Udupi: Samatha Sainika Dala conduct protest

Udupi, 13 November 2011: Accusing the District administration for not issuing the rights document for the SC/ST who have built their houses and are living in the government land of the district, the Samatha Sainika Dala conducted protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office for a day. Addressing the protesters the District Unit President Vishwananatha Petri said that, in the district there are more than 5 thousands SC/ST, backward community and minorities are living by building houses in government land. But they have not been issued the rights documents so far, so they should be immediately issued the documents, he urged.
Sinilarly, in Gandhi Nagar of Haradi Grama panchayath in Brahmavara, there are 200 families who are living there since many years and among them only 120 families have received the documents. The remaining 80 families have not been issued documents reasoning as forest rights land. If the documents are not issued then in the coming days strong protest will be conducted, he warned the Ministers and MLA and Presidents of the District and Taluk Panchayath.
The protest was led by Samatha Dala District Unit Chief Secretary T. Keshava, Vice President Ganesh Rane, Union Secretary Babanna Birthi, Treasurer Manjunatha Madhuvana, Mahesh Bannanje, Ram Kumar, Gajendra and others.
