Shirva: GP Bi-election - Congress supported V. Shetty win

Shirva, 29 September 2011: In the 45th Grama Panchayath bi-election for the 2nd block conducted on 25th September, Congress supported candidate Panjimaru Virendra Shetty defeated his nearest contestant BJP supported Rajesh Shetty with 111 votes and won the election. Virendra Shetty received 424 votes, Rajesh Shetty received 313 votes. There were total 4 candidates, the other candidates Mayyadi received 11 votes and Mahabala received 2 votes.
Keeping close contact with every house of the ward, resolving the issues of Ration card, BPL, APL, renovating the roads, implementing the employment security yojane effectively are in my priority list, said the winning candidate Virendra Shetty.
