Vehicle breakdown on Highway blocks traffic for 3 hours

Udyavara, 28 May 2011: Traffic was blocked for about 3 hours at National Highway near Udyavara bridge due to breakdown of Tempo Tracks on Friday. In the rush traffic during the day, with the sudden breakdown of Tracks the vehicles coming from both sides had to stop and the vehicles coming from Udupi and Mangalore had to be stranded on the road for hours.

 

 

During this time the smaller vehicles somehow managed to sneak by the inner roads and passed through. But the vehicles such as busses and other heavy vehicles which had to go through its route on the highway had a difficult time and had to wait in a one and half kilometre long queue. The passengers had to pass the time on the highway cursing the Tracks driver. Later Police came to the scene and cleared the traffic, but those who were in hurry for important work were worried due to this delay.
