15 Jun 2014: Working out in the heat is quite exhaustive. It not only drains you completely but may also cause lethargy. Here’s how you can exercise in the heat.
Summers are the perfect time when you can step outside your home and have some fun. This is also the season when you workout hard, you can really shed a lot of kilos. But the trick is to beat the heat which makes it difficult for you to exercise. Here’s how...
The time of the day is crucial: Exercising early morning during summers is advisable. This is because morning during summers is pleasant because the heat sets in quite late during the day. Thus going out for a run or a walk around 6 or 7 in the morning is an ideal option. Also in case you do not get enough time to exercise in the morning, going for a run late evening is also another bet.
Wear loose clothes: When you wear loose and light clothes, it helps reflect heat thus making it easier for you to exercise. Choose cotton materials because they help absorb sweat better. Opt for shorts and light cotton trousers that will provide comfort.
Sunscreen is a must: Always wear a sunscreen no matter what time of the day it is. The sunscreen will protect you from the ultraviolet rays of the sun that cause maximum damage to your skin during summers.
Drink enough water: Another way to beat the heat and exercise better during summers is by drinking enough fluids so that your system remains hydrated. While working out make it a point to constantly sip on water, thus you won’t lose out on essential nutrients from your body.
