The feast of our lady of Lourdes will be celebrated in Kanajar on Friday, 11th February 2011 with all solemnity. Kanajar is the only parish dedicated to our lady of Lourdes in Mangalore diocese. The Kanajar parish was erected in 1938 and was dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.

Christmas, the feast celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ was celebrated at Kanajar. The Christmas celebrations began on Christmas Eve at 7 pm with the Parish choir singing traditional Christmas carols. The carols were followed by the Eucharistic celebration at 7.35 pm
