New Delhi, 27 May 2014 (PTI): Shiv Sena, the oldest ally of BJP, is unhappy over being given only one ministerial berth and that too the heavy industries portfolio in the Narendra Modi government and has complained to the BJP leadership.
Modi has included Anant Geete, a senior leader of Shiv Sena in his Cabinet, but he did not assume the charge of the heavy industries ministry on Tuesday because of being unhappy over the portfolio, sources said.
Sena sources said the party was expecting more ministerial berths as it is the second largest party in the NDA with 18 members in the Lok Sabha.
Coupled with this unhappiness, the party was given the heavy industries portfolio, which upset it further.
Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who had come to Delhi to attend the swearing in of Council of Ministers on Monday, has taken up this issue with BJP leadership, party sources said.
Geete also met Thackeray, they said.
However, Geete attended the first meeting of the Union Cabinet held this evening.
