Sahibgaanj, Jharkhand, 11 January 2012: Four were feared killed and several caught in the wreckage when Delhi-bound Brahmaputra Mail rammed into a stationary goods train near Karanpurato station in Jharkhand around 6am on Wednesday.
"Four were killed and five sustained simple injuries," said Harsh Kumar, DRM, Malda.
"We can’t tell you the reason or who is responsible for the accident without an enquiry," added Kumar.
A medical relief train has rushed to the spot.
The goods train developed snags and was standing on the tracks reportedly without a driver. While the Brahmaputra Mail came along the train was sliding backwards along the tracks that are on an incline at the spot.
A bogie of Brahmaputra Mail was derailed.
However, it was not clear how Brahmapura Mail got a signal to pass the station.
