Chennai, 29 September 2011: Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were the two key players rested for the first two ODIs against England as the BCCI announced the squad for the ties. The management decided to include skipper MS Dhoni who was learnt to have asked for rest citing hectic schedule.
Zaheer and Yuvraj have also been ruled out of the first two ties owing to fitness problems. Harbhajan Singh has been ruled out of the ties while Gautam Gambhir made the cut for the team as he has regained fitness.
Left arm pacer S Arvind and leg spinner Rahul Sharma are the new faces in the ODI dressing room. Ashish Nehra also could not be given a chance in the team while Vinay Kumar and R Ashwin made the cut.
Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Varun Aaron have also been named along with Umesh Yadav, Praveen Kumar.
The first two games of the five-match ODI series against England will be played in Hyderabad on October 14 and New Delhi on October 17. The other matches will be held in Mohali (Oct 20), Mumbai (Oct 23) and Kolkata (Oct 25).
