New Delhi, 22 September 2011: There’s some good and bad news. The good news is legendary boxer Mike Tyson will appear on the new season of popular reality television show Bigg Boss that forces celebrity guests to stay in confinement for a period of time for prize money.
But here’s the bad news. With cricketer-turned-commentator-turned-actor-turned-comedy show host Navjot Singh Sidhu joining Tyson in the house, the decibel level inside the house is likely to be high enough to drive the inmates insane.
The new and fifth season starts in October. There are speculations that actor Madhuri Dixit, who returns to India about that time, has also been approached for the show. The deal between Tyson and Colors has been signed and he will fly to India to be part of the show. Tyson could have some interesting housemates. Singer Shakira and Mexican actor Barbara Mori have been approached. Serial killer Charles Sobhraj’s wife Nihita Biswas and Sidhu have confirmed their participation.
Tyson, 44, the boxer who famously bit off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear in a 1997 bout is nicknamed "Iron Mike" for his ferocious boxing style in the 1980s. Tyson was undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion in the 1980s but in 1992 he was convicted of rape and served three years in prison. He declared bankruptcy in 2003 and retired from professional boxing in 2006. Since then he has appeared in the TV shows ’Entourage’ and ’Brothers’ and had a cameo role in the 2009 hit comedy movie ’The Hangover’.
After the success of Bigg Boss 4, Salman Khan returns to host another season of the hit reality TV show. This time he is also joined by actor Sanjay Dutt and they have already warned the inmates to get ready for "double vaat" on the show. The inmates are required to stay in the house for three months with no contact with the outside world. The selection of the cast is eagerly awaited every season as it combines former thieves, dacoits, reality show stars, actors and controversial people from various professions. The show will air on Colors channel every night.
