Mangalore: Experienced Surgeon can effectively treat Wrist Injuries; Fr Rodrigues

Mangalore, 27 Apr 2014: The unit of hand and micro-vascular surgery department of orthopedics, Father Muller Medical College organized a daylong Continuing Medical Education (CME) on wrist injuries, at their conference hall here on Sunday April 27.
Father Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues inaugurated the programme here on Sunday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Patrick said, a tennis world champion Novak Djokovic suffered from wrist injuries that forced him to temporarily get reprieve from forthcoming tournaments. Fr Patrick further said that any wrist injury if not diagnosed in time, will lead to greater problems and also there may be permanent disability. It is therefore necessary to diagnose wrist injury as early as possible since the wrist is very important part of the body. Sometimes during play or any other accidental injuries, proper and adequate diagnosis by experienced doctors at the right time saves one from further injury and can make the wrist function properly, said Fr Rodrigues.
Manipal – KMC former head of department and unit chief department of orthopedic and consultant hand surgeon Professor Bhaskaranand Kumar was felicitated by Fr Rodrigues during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion Professor Bhaskaranand said, ‘God is not partial; he has given opportunities to everybody. We have to grab the opportunities and use them for the right cause at the right time,’ said Professor Bhaskaranand.
Fr Roshan Crasta, Dr Sanjeev Rai, Dr Praveen Bharadwaj, Dr Sriranga and others were also present.
The programme began with an invocation. The organizing president and head of department of orthopedics Dr Jacob Chacko welcomed the gathering. The organizing secretary Dr Latheesh Latheef proposed vote of thanks.
