Udupi: Unique Art Exhibition Titled ‘Me & Tradition’ Depicting Indian Folk Arts Begins at Udupi Art

Udupi, 4 Apr 2013: A unique arts exhibition titled – Me and tradition, depicting the folk art and tribal traditional art of different states across the nation was inaugurated at Udupi Art Gallery, here on Wednesday April 3.
The city based Vidhyodaya Public School principal Sudha Rao inaugurated the art exhibition of 50 painting by 14 students of Udupi Art School here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudha Rao said that the rural and traditional art reflects the splendor of Indian contemporary art, said Sudha Rao.
Udupi Art Gallery founder president Vasant Rao presided the programme. Manipal Group vice president Sagar Mukhyopadyaya was the chief guest of the occasion.Udupi Foundation chairman Kevin Morison D’Mello was present.
The art exhibition will be open for public viewing from Wednesday April 3 to Wednesday April 10, between 10.30am to 7.00pm.
Highlights:
It’s significant that all the fourteen artists are girls, all pursing training at Udupi Art School that has organized its first ever exhibition.
The artists are – Swati Shetty, Manasvi Hegde, Arpita Shet, Archita Shet, Ananya G Rao, Avani A R, Navya Bhandary, Anusha Kamat, Shivani Rao, Anvita, Shasta Shetty, Namita Nambiar and Supriya Prabhu.
