Udupi: Decennial Celebrations by Navodaya Mitra Mandali- Dendoorkatte

Udupi, 21 Feb 2013: The Decennial celebrations of Navodaya Mitra Mandali was held on Tuesday 19 February 2013 at Dendoorkatte. The program began at 8.30 am with the flag hoisting by Dayananda Shetty Kadambettu. Sweets were distributed to the attendees by Shankara pai.
The stage program was held in the evening at 7.00 pm. The program was presided over by Appu Poojary, Teacher of Nehru High School Alevoor. Chief guests of the program were Kartik Shetty of V4 Developers Alevoor and Nalini – President of Manipura Grama Panchayath.
Other guests and dignitaries present on the dias were, Gurudas Bhandary – Taluk Panchayath member, Sakarama Shetty – Hon President, Sandeep Shetty – President of Navodaya Mitra Mandali, Vincent D’Souza – Former Panchayath President, Joseph – Former Rotary President, Rajabhyari, Krishnaraj Acharya – Lawyer and Gururaj Bhat – Manager Abhyudhaya Bank Udupi.
The program began with the prayers. Gururaj Bhat welcomed the guests and the gathering. Wilfred Mendonsa reading the annual report said that, The Navodaya Mitra Mandali in the last 10 years has done various noble works for the community in Dendoorkatte area, such as blood donation, repair of roads etc. and is being appreciated by the people of the area, he said.
Advocate Krishnaraj Acharya speaking on the occasion said that, from the beginning there is good and the bad in the world. We must make use of what is right and must keep away from the bad habits, he said. During the program, the prize distribution ceremony was conducted.
Chief guest Kartik Shetty in his address said that, many of the people who are dear and near ones have attended this program. Dendoorkatte, as such is a place of dear and near ones. These associations such as this Mitra Mandala are the inspiration to come up in life. In difficult situations, we have to overcome it patiently. In the life self confidence is most important. He wished the association to be the way for the development of the region.
Appu Poojary in his presidential address said that, the youth clubs should reflect the society. These associations must decide what should happen and what should not happen. They should become a mirror of the society and must involve themselves in the society, he said.
The program was compeered by Chandrashekar Saliyan. Ramesh Shetty proposed vote of thanks. The program continued with the entertainment program. The program concluded with playing the Tulu social comedy drama “Badukuna Sadi” of Thelikeda Bolli Devdas Kapikad.
