Tearful Farewell to Naveen and Saritha Fernandes of Kulshekar

Mangalore, 25 May 2010: After the terrible air crash tragedy at the Bajpe airport on Saturday, 22 May 2010, it was the period of bidding farewell to those who perished in the horrible disaster. The pall of gloom and despair has descended on the entire Mangalore Diocese with the death of a large number of the passengers belonging to one parish or the other. Funerals have been held in different parishes on Sunday and Monday bidding final farewell to the victims of this air tragedy.
The family, relatives and parishioner of Kulshekar Church bid the final tearful farewell to Naveen Walter and Saritha Fernandes on Monday, 24 May 2010 at 4 pm in Holy Cross Church, Kulshekar. Naveen (36) and Saritha (24) had died in the tragic Air India Express IX-812 crash on Saturday, 22 May 2010.
The funeral Mass was concelebrated by Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Vicar General Rev. Msgr. Denis Prabhu, Diocese PRO - Fr. William Menezes, Fr Stany, the parish priest of Kulshekar, Fr. Valerian Pinto, assistant priest and Fr. Arun Wilson Lobo.
Naveen and Saritha were working in Dubai since four years and they have a four year old daughter, Violla who is being looked after by her grandma.
