Head Load offerings by Belle Parishioners to Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Kanajar

Kanajar, 27 November 2010: Under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes – Parish Priest, about 100 parishioners of St. Lawrence Church Moodubelle lead by Rev. Fr. Lancy Saldanha – Asst. Parish Priest St. Lawrence Church, carried “Hore Kanike” to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes Kanajar on Saturday 27 November 2010, as part of the inauguration of the renovated Kanjar Church and the annual Parish Feast celebrations.
Parishioners left Moodubelle at around 10.30 am in the morning in two wheelers and four wheelers and upon reaching Kanajar all of them gathered at the grounds of Lourdes Higher Primary School. People from Kanajar Temple, Shree Kshetra Kaudoor Temple, Mangaldi Mutt Palli, residents of Nakre and the Parishioners of the 14 wards of Kanjar were also gathered there along with their "Hore Kanike".
From the grounds of Lourdes Higher Primery School, at 11.30 am the “Hore Kanike” was carried in a grand procession with band and taken to the Parish Hall of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes Kanajar. The “Hore Kanike” was received at the Parish Hall by Fr. Alwyn D’Cunha – Parish Priest of Kanjar Church.
In the ceremony at the Parish Hall, Fr. Alwyn D’Cunha welcomed all the guests and the parishioners. The program was presided over by Rev. Fr. Valerian D’Silva Nalkubeedhi Moodubelle. Also the guests of honour present in the dias were Rev. Fr. Lancy Saldhana - Asst. Parish Priest St. Lawrence Church, Mable Nazereth – Vice President of Pastoral Council Kanajar Church, Sr. Meena - Convent Superior, Denis D’Souza – Secretary of Pastoral Council Kanjar Church, Praveen Pande – President of Palli Panchayath, Ramesh Shetty – President of Neerebailoor Panchayath and Br. Richard Lobo – Deacon.
Praveen Pande spoke on the occasion and said we all are gathered here without any differences or cast or creed as one family. Rev. Fr. Valerian D’Silva blessed the “Hore Kanike” and prayed for everyone who involved for this occasion either directly or indirectly.
The program was compeered and also votes of thanks proposed by Prakash Martis.
The Completely renovated Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Kanajar will have the celebrations from 27 November until 01 December 2010. The celebrations includes inauguration of the renovated church, various religious programs, mass, annual day of church, feast mass and other programs. The church was built 72 years ago and was recently renovated repairing the roof, interior and the tower.
