I-T officials raid two CWG contractors

New Delhi, 28 October 2010: Income Tax officials raided the offices of Shiv Naresh Sports Pvt Ltd and Satya Prakash Construction in connection with allegations of corruption in Commonwealth Games.
The raids were carried out across the national capital region and Delhi. Raids are also being in Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore. Over 50 teams of Income Tax are involved in the carrying out the raid.
While Shiv Naresh Sports had laid the synthetic tracks for the Commonwealth Games, Satya Prakash Construction was involved landscaping.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already appointed former Comptroller and Auditor General of India VK Shunglu to investigate into the allegations of financial irregularities in the Commonwealth Games.
The Enforcement Directorate had on Wednesday questioned Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Director General VK Verma for over nine hours in connection with the alleged financial irregularities in the Queen’s Baton Relay in London in 2009.
