Perpetual profession of three Capuchin Friars held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, 04 May 2024: Three Capuchin brothers Nitesh Nazareth (Mangaluru), Arogya Lawrence (Bengaluru) and Roshwin Lopes (Karwar) made their perpetual profession at Darshan Institute of Theology, Kengeri, Bengaluru on Thursday May 2.

 

The religious ceremony of the profession was carried out in the seminary chapel during the celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Fr John Alwyn Dias, the provincial minister of the Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka.

 

By means of perpetual profession, these three brothers are definitively incorporated into the brotherhood of the Capuchin order with all the rights and obligations. After the example of St Francis of Assisi, the friars vowed to God to live for their entire life in obedience, in poverty, and in chastity.

 

In his homily, Fr Robin D’Souza, one of the provincial councillors, shared his insights on religious life, especially Capuchin Franciscan way of life and the three evangelical vows.

 

 

The choir of Kripalaya, Institute of Philosophy, led by Fr Prashanth Noronha sang at the solemn Mass was indeed worthy of the sacred liturgy that offered greater festivity.

 

Fr Denis Veigas, the rector of the Institute and the councillor, welcomed the gathering. The perpetually professed brothers and their parents were felicitated by the Capuchin Friars. In his felicitation address, the provincial minister gratefully acknowledged the sacrifices made by the parents and the generosity of the benefactors.

 

Br Melroy D’Silva, as the master of ceremony both for liturgy and felicitation, ensured a fruitful and joyful participation by all.

 

The community of Deena Seva Ashram - Darshan Institute of Theology guided by Fr Denis Veigas, rector and Fr Naveen Dsouza, vice-rector made the stay of the guests comfortable and made all necessary arrangements for the celebration. Br Arogya Lawrence, the new perpetually professed friar, thanked all.
