Udupi, 17 Apr 2013: The poll outcome of Karnataka legislative assembly elections will have direct effect on national politics because of this it has greater significance, said union minister for food processing of Kerala K V Thomas.
AICC member and Karnataka assembly elections overseer K V Thomas was speaking at the press meet held here on Tuesday April 16, at the backdrop of upcoming assembly elections.
Karnataka is a large state, while it’s normal to have confusions in the Congress related to choosing party candidates. It’s also normal to have differences of opinions among the leaders of largest national party - Congress. Congress will not be affected by rebellions that have been witnessed in the past elections, which are resolved fairly, said Thomas.
Congress will come back to reign in Karnataka, but it’s too early to say who would become the Chief Minister, because its not the tradition of Congress, stressed Thomas.
The scams of union ministers will not have impact on the upcoming assembly elections. Congress is the party that has mercilessly taken action on such ministers. This will have positive effect on the voters, hoped Thomas.
Udupi – Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde, DCC secretaries Narasimhamurti and Janardhan Tonse, Congress Seva Dal commandant Ashok Kumar Kodavoor and others were present at the press meet.
