Pangala: Good Friday observed at St. John’s Evangelist Church

Pangala/Shankerpura, 19 Apr 3024: A devotional Good Friday celebration was held at the St. John’s Evangelist Church, Pangala at 3.00pm. The Good Friday celebration was presided by the Vicar General of Udupi Diocese, Mnsgr Baptist Menezes and con-celebrated by Rev. Fr. Leslie D’Souza (Parish Priest), Rev. Fr. Vincent Coello.

 

 

In his meaningful homily Msgr Baptist Menezes highlighted the Meaning of Cross and the Sacrificial aspect of Jesus death. The Holy Cross was then venerated and kissed by a large number of parishioners . The holy Eucharist was distributed to all the devotees prior to the conclusion ceremony.

 

In the morning the Way of Cross was conducted at St. John’s school ground. The way of the cross was led by the priests, sisters and seminarians. The cross was carried ward wise groups. All the parishioners attended the way of cross . The Choir sang devotional hymns melodiously. The entire Way of the Cross lasted for 60 minutes.
