Tulu Koota, Kuwait Celebrates its First Ever World Tulu Convention - 2013

Kuwait, 22 Oct 2013: Tulu Koota, Kuwait celebrated its first ever World Tulu Convention at Al Kamel Al-Rayes Auditorium, American International School, Hawally, here on Thursday October 17 and Friday October 18.
Event started on Thursday at 2:30pm with grand procession with honorable guests, all sponsors, Tulu Koota governing council members and well wishers.
The dignitaries inaugurated the World Tulu Convention and released a souvenir of Tulu Koota - Kuwait on the occasion.
Tulu Koota – Kuwait president Ramesh Kediyoor expressed hearty-welcome to all the dignitaries and the gathering.
There are number of cultural programs performed by Tulu Koota kids and members.
Gandiva Biruva, Yakshagana play based on mythology episode was staged by veteran Yakshagana artistes as part of cultural extravaganza.
The Excellent dance group from Suratkal presented mesmerizing dances for the delight of the audience.
South Kanara Welfare Association – Kuwait presented Konkani folk-dances, followed by Mangalorean Rose ceremony by United Mangalorean of Kuwait.
The variety Tulu plays themed Vande Matharam and Koti – Channayana Satyada Badak and Tulunadu Porlu was staged by amateur troupe on the occasion, fishermen’s dance that captivated the audience.
The former Mr World and bodybuilder Raymond D’Souza presented Body show on Friday.
Nank Materla Bodu, Tulu play was staged by the artistes of Kusalda Kalavider promoted by Lakumi Group.
The scholarship were presented to meritorious students who secured highest marks in recently held Class X and II PUC exams.
Karnataka minister for youth sports and fisheries Abayachandra Jain, Mangalore city lawyer and KPCC general secretary Ivan D’Souza, Dr Vivek Rai, Dr Abdul Rehman, Udupi-based Adarsh Hospital managing director Dr Chandrashekar, writer Vaman Nandavar, Tulu theater artiste Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, social activist Harish Kumar Pergade, Udayavani – Kannada daily photographer Astro Mohan, the former Mr World Raymond D’Souza were present on the occasion.
Monohar Prasad and Bhavishya welcomed the gathering. Vedavalli presented a welcome dance. Pushkal Kumar compered the programme.
Tulu Koota Convention concluded by singing National Anthem.
