Mangalore: DK district Ex-Servicemen’s Association Observes Kargil Vijay Divas in City

Mangalore, 26 Jul 2013: Dakshina Kannada Ex-Servicemen’s Association in association with district Lions Club and CIL observed Kargil Vijay Divas at Lions Seva Mandir, Mallikatte, here on Friday July 26.
Bangalore-based BMS Engineering College – BE third year student Disha Amrith, after inaugurating the patriotic programme, here on Friday morning, that she was always fascinated by the courage shown by the former servicemen. Meanwhile, she announced that she will join the army to serve Mother India.
The retired servicemen - Purushotham Acharya, Alexander D’Silva, Noel Lobo and Cyril D’Souza were felicitated during the programme.

Lions Club International district 317 D governor K C Prabhu presided the programme.
The key organizers S Nandagopal, Rajesh Kamath, Bhaskar Pai and others were present.
The members of Dakshina Kannada district unit of ABVP also observed Kargil Vijay Divas at Kadri War Memorial here.
Speaking on the occasion, Commander Mascarhenas said that many martyrs have sacrificed their precious lives in the interest of safeguarding country and its citizens. Its an opportunity to remember their selfless service to the nation.
