Mangalore: KACES Celebrate Annual Day with Inauguration of New Computer Lab

Mangalore, 07 Jul 2013: Karnataka Christian Educational Society (KACES), Balmatta, here organized the celebration of their annual day on Saturday July 6.
MLA J R Lobo inaugurated new computer laboratory that was set up at Karnataka Theological College (KTC) library at KACES campus here on Saturday evening.
MLA Lobo also unveiled the plaque of golden jubilee celebrations of Hebich Technical Training Institute at KACES campus at the same occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lobo said that the contribution of Basil Mission is praise worthy because if the Basil Missionaries would not have come here there would not have been much development in the technical and educational field, said MLA Lobo.
The Basel Mission Press started imparting training in printing technology and book binding for youngsters of the society and helped many of them to start their own printing units in and around the city. It was possible because of the missionaries who had come here. He further said, ‘in education, one should not see religion; we have to treat everyone equally. Our religion should be serving others, one should be service minded and always think of helping others, our religion should be humanity,’ said MLA Lobo.
MLA Lobo also said, ‘Bishop Jathanna has dedicated his life to the society. When we live in this world we have to be helpful to others and when we go from this world, people will remember us. If we help others we will leave a mark on this world and we will be alive even after we die. He urged the gathering to follow in the footsteps of Bishop Jathanna and help the needy,’ said MLA Lobo.
MLA Lobo and Dr Honey Cabral distributed M Phil certificates and marks cards to the students.
Dr Honey Cabral felicitated Fr Dr Canute Barboza and Sandeep D’Silva. Meritorious students as well as achievers in various fields were also felicitated on the occasion.Dr D R Sadananda welcomed the gathering. Immanuel Punith proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Gladson Jathanna compered the programme.
KACES students staged variety cultural shows after the stage programme.
