Hassan, 10 Jun 2013: The state reign has to rule taking into consideration all aspects of social welfare of its people, said Hampi University Kannada Professor M Chandra Poojary.
Professor Poojary was delivering lecture on political role in Karnataka’s development that was organized in joint aegis of Sahamata Vedike, India Students Federation, Indian Democratic Youth Federation Indian Knowledge Science Committee at Swabhimani Bhavan, located nearby Press Club, here on Sunday June 9.
‘If the elected representatives are of good characters and clear of their mission, they can perform better in spite of loopholes in constitution. If they lack this, the constitution alone cannot do anything worthwhile to the nation. The majority of people are facing dearth of state support in social, cultural and other spheres. The national or state development should be focused on the welfare of all communities,’ said Professor Poojary.
He expressed displeasure of lack of moral values in politics that has only sustained bread and clothes. The oppression of imperial rulers is even now prevalent. The clashes are recurring among caste and classes. The higher classes don’t respond to the issues of lower classes. Its all not come by nature but created by humans, added Professor Poojary.
Government Arts College head of post graduation department of political science Professor Shive Gowda was present at the occasion.
