M’lore: SCC Immensely Contributed for Spiritual Revival, Economic Empowerment of Parishioners:

Mangalore, 16 May 2013: The silver jubilee celebrations of Small Christian Community (SSS) of Mangalore diocese was held at St Sebastian’s platinum jubilee auditorium, Bendore, here on Thursday May 16.
The celebration began with Thanksgiving Mass offered at St Sebastian’s parish, Bendore, here on Thursday morning.
Bishop Dr Aloysius P D’Souza concelebrated the Holy Mass along with over 60 clergies attended by a large number of faithful, earlier to the stage programme.
Bishop Dr Aloysius in his presidential address said that the entire diocese benefited out of SCC meetings in different wards of each parish every week. It has indeed brought the parishioners of different wards closer to work for common goal in strengthening the bond and helping each other. The silver jubilee celebration is the milestone in the history of SCC in Mangalore diocese. The unity of community is exemplified in electing an enterprising MLA J R Lobo during the recently held assembly elections, said Bishop Dr Aloysius.
Bishop Dr Aloysius urged the community to foster better relations with people of different faith in the society, by inviting them for friendly meets during feasts, urged Bishop Dr Aloysius.
Fr Vijay Thomas and newly-elected MLA J R Lobo was the chief guest present.
Bishop Dr Aloysius felicitated newly-elected MLA J R Lobo at the same occasion.
Bishop Dr Aloysius released CD that was brought out by SCC.
Mangalore diocesan vicar general Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu released SCC silver jubilee souvenir.
Monsignor Denis also highlighted the spiritual revival done through SCC throughout the twenty-five years in different parishes across the diocese.
Fr Alwyn D’Cunha felicitated SCC leaders during the programme.
Sandesha director Fr Vijay Victor Lobo presented the report of SCC activities in different parishes of Mangalore diocese.
The SCC silver jubilee Committee secretary Fr Maxim was also present. Fr Walter welcomed the gathering. Fr Robert D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. The Episcopal deanery SCC secretary Fr Paul Pinto compered the programme.
The programme concluded with sumptuous food at the occasion.
