Mangaluru: Ramakrishna Mission celebrates International Yoga Day

Mangaluru, 21 Jun 2015: Ramakrishna Mission celebrated International Yoga Day here on Sunday June 21.
The programme began with the release of CD brought out by AYUSH ministry here on Sunday at 9.00am.
The Ashram president Swami Jitakamananda in his keynote address explained how yoga helps the students with examples in focusing on their studies.
MLC Captain Ganesh Karnic after inaugurating the programme said, ‘We should take pride in Indian cultural hierarchy.’ He regretted how difficult for us to understand the truths that are unraveled by contemporary sages. Yoga has been well recognized by the world. One got to practice by knowing its significance that would make Yoga Day meaningful, said MLC Captain Karnic.
Bengaluru zonal NSS youth unit officer Uppina, Yogacharya Dr Shankaranarayan were the special invitees present.
Avishkar Yoga Kendra director Kushalappa Gowda and his group, Vivekananda Yoga Centre – Mangaluru branch convener Mohan Kumblekar and Professor Shikaripura Krishnamurti were the resource persons delivered talk on the health benefits of yoga.
The students of Avishakar Yoga Kendra presented live demonstration of yoga pastures.
NSS co-ordinator Professor Vineeta Rai welcomed the gathering. Alva’s College lecturer Santosh Alva compered the programme.
