Puttur: St Philomena College Students Go Green

Puttur, 19 Jul 2014: Eco Club of St Philomena College here took the initiative in showing the practical way of tilling the soil at Kanakamajalu, Sullia taluk recently.
Around 51 students participated in this exercise. They were shown and asked to sow the seed in the field. For the recreational purpose of the student a few competitions such as rural games on silted-field, tug-of-war, Kabaddi were held on the occasion.
Eco Club convener Nagraju M, lecturer of department of Botany, the co-convenors Botany lecturers Rakshitha R B and Shashi Prabha organized the camp in order to provide a practical knowledge and a rural exposure for the students.

A good news. But in reality I would put one question, how many of these young girls/ladies are prepared to marry and live with an agriculturist? How many of these will like paddy cultivation. It is O.K. , to educate and create an opinion in the public they have come doown to the fileds and held paady siblings to plant before the Camera. One must be realistic. Not for show but to accept that village life.Then only all these activities have values |
