Udupi: Mogaveer Community urges Political Parties to give Prominence to Contest in Forthcoming Poll

Udupi, 12 Mar 2014: The Mogaveer community organizations urged the key political parties to give prominence to their able leaders in the forthcoming general elections for Lok Sabha polls; as the community one amongst strongest in coastal district allege they were neglected by the parties in the past during Udupi – Chikmagalur LS polls.
The Mogaveer community leaders of both district and state organizations already discussed the issue and likely wage struggle to give due significance to the community to contest in the forthcoming in the general elections. Congress has issued party ticket to Billawa community veteran leader B Janardhan Poojary to contest in Mangalore LS constituency to woe Billawa community.
BJP has issued party ticket to Bunts community leader Nalin Kumar and Congress issued party ticket to Bunts community leader Jayaprakash Hegde to contest from Udupi – Chikmagalur LS constituency; while BJP has been trying to woe candidate from far away constituency sidelining the local aspirants. Mogaveer community organizations expressed displeasure for neglecting their influential leaders in the likely list.
BJP has neglected Mogaveer community’s influential political leader and two-time MLA Lalaji R Mendon, and also BJP state secretary and Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district fisheries Federation president Yashpal A Suvarna. BJP had issued party ticket to Lalaji R Mendon twice in the assembly elections. However, the Mogaveer community’s popular young leader Yashpal Suvarna has emerged as the most popular among all communities in the society.
The Mogaveer community’s veterans already pressurized different political parties to issue party to contest in the forthcoming Udupi – Chikmagalur general elections as BJP candidate. Meanwhile, one has to wait and see whether BJP bosses issues party ticket to Yashpal!
