Kundapur, 8 Dec 2013: Vishwasadamane – an orphanage center located near here rescued a thirty-seven-year-old destitute woman 7 years ago from besides the road whilst scavenging in garbage bin at Kinnimulky, in Udupi.
Pastor Sunil John D’Souza and his colleagues at Vishwasadamane, had taken her to their rehabilitation center, where she was cleansed off thoroughly by women staff and wore her new pair of clothes. She was examined by psychiatrist and administered medication that showed results in her overall wellbeing. She learnt tailoring, gardening and began working as kitchen helper.
The authorities at Vishwasadamane wrote several letters to the known contact address given by her, while they had a surprise on a few days ago. Her real name is Madhuri, while her father Sajan Mahato and uncle Medalal Mahato have arrived who arrived at Vishwasadamane to take her back home. Sajan was so happy to see his daughter and wondered it was a rebirth for him.
Sajan said, ‘Madhuri was of unstable mind deserted her husband along with a toddler on tow on a night 7 years ago. We have searched everywhere but got no clue of her. We have abandoned the hope of finding her,’ said Sajan.
Madhuri said, ‘When I was scavenging someone sheltered me and my baby for a day. The told me that they will care for the baby,’ said Madhuri.
Madhuri was married with 3 children. Two daughters are now married off and her son is working somewhere, its being learned.
