Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) And Kuwait Customs Suspend Strike

Kuwait, 22 March 2012: Kuwait airways and custom service employees suspended a strike yesterday to give the govt a chance to fulfill their demands they said in a separate union statement. Kuwait Airways Corporation has decided to suspend its strike in order to protect national interest and to give the government a chance to fulfill its demands said a union statement. Insisting on 30 % pay rise, airline employees began their strike on Saturday, March 17, 2012 forcing cancellation of dozens of flights.
Customs service employees also announced that they have suspended their strike to give the government a chance to fulfill their demands. Due to the strike of custom’s employees stores at some supermarkets are running empty. Striking customs workers refused to allow hundreds of trucks to cross the border that is prompting merchants to hike price, with the cost of some goods such as dairy products, detergents, etc. rising significantly.
The union wants to explain the latest developments to the members of the union on the past few days of the negotiations with the government and MPs intervention and the intervention the Prime Minister Sheikh Jabber al Mubarak al Sabah.
