M’lore: SJEC organizes Joshiana 5.0: Two-Day National Level IT Fest

Mangalore, 28 Sep 2014: The Technocrats - Students Association of department of computer applications at St Joseph Engineering College - Vamanjoor, here organized Joshiana 5.0, two-day national IT Fest for the students of MCA, M.Tech, MS and BE (CS and IS) courses, here on Saturday September 26.
St Aloysius College rector Fr Denzil Lobo SJ inaugurated the programme here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Denzil Lobo voiced his opinion on coping up with the growth in technology. He also stressed on entrepreneurship and the culture to be followed in the IT industry.
The official logo of Techncocrats was also unveiled on this occasion along with the launch of the Android Application developed for Joshiana 5.0.
The Fest comprised of 9 events namely - Codigo Friki (coding and debugging), IT concorso (IT Quiz), Juego Recinto (gaming), Web Dibujo (web designing), Producto De Imaginacion (product launch), Applicacion Evolucion (App development), IT-Parialmento (IT Parliament), Bueno Administrador (Best IT Manager) and Teatro (culturals).
The events were conducted by the MCA students over 2 days and the judges were invited from in and out of the college. All in all 16 teams participated in Joshiana 5.0 and had 180 participants visiting SJEC and being a part of Fest.
Some of the external judges called from outside included RJ Joel and RJ Anirudh from Big 92.7 FM, who judged the Mock Press round of the event Best Manager and the final round of the event Product Launch.
The final round of the event Web Designing was judged by Yathiraj from Satya Sai Loka Seva Trust Institution. The final round of the event IT Parliament was judged by Dr Jeny Rajan, assistant Professor, department of computer science and engineering, NITK, Suratkal. Dileep Malani was the quiz master for the final round of the event IT quiz. The final round of the event Best IT Manager was judged by Vishwas Kamath and Sunil George, both experts in the field of stress interviews. The judges for all the events were felicitated by the respective Event Managers by handing them a memento as a token of appreciation.
Dikshith Rai - Founder and CEO of CodeCraft Technologies, Mangalore was the chief guest during valedictory function.
Dikshith Rai spoke about finding fun in studies and picking up crucial aspects of programming which would help them achieve great things in life.
The runners-Up award for Joshiana 5.0 was awarded to Srinivas Institute of Technology, here and the Overall Championship was bagged by Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal.
