Dubai: Calisto Abel Mathias wins Shaikh Hamdan Award 2014

Dubai, 22 Jun 2014: Calisto Abel Mathias, Class IV student of Indian High School, here won Shaikh Hamdan Award 2014 for Academic Excellence in UAE by the Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Makhtoom, the deputy ruler of Dubai.

 

 
 
Calisto is the son of Canute and Asha Mathias couple who hail from Mudarangadi, Udupi district and are residing in Dubai.

 

 
 
He is an enthusiast and energetic in every of the activities.  He has been excelling in the studies throughout and has won many competitions held around in Dubai. He is a winner in the art competitions, spell bee competitions, maths challenge quiz, chess competitions. He has been an active member of the EEG environmental group. He has completed the summer recycling project successfully in the year 2013. He has tried to take the message of recycling through the article published in Daijiworld and Bellevision. He has excelled in the UCMAS competitions as well. His selected arts were displayed by Ocean Kid art exhibition as well.

 

 
 
 
He is a good public speaker and has good leadership abilities as well.  He has been continuously a member of in the school student council. Also he has been giving the volunteer service towards SNF (Special Need Future Development Center).

 

Currently in the school he is serving as Secretary in the School council, attending the art classes, karate classes, music classes and choir classes in the church.

 

He has been recently felicitated by Bethkati–Belman Parishoners Association ® in Dubai, Ocean Kids Dubai and Karnataka Sangha Sharjah ®.
